I started my career as a defense contractor working for a large corporation, where I quickly realized something that stuck with me: the value of my work—and the work of people around me far exceeded what we were given in return. The company thrived on our dedication, skill, and work ethic, yet the rewards rarely reflected that reality. That realization led me to make a change.

I moved to a smaller company, where I found an environment I’m still deeply grateful for. It was there that I began to understand not just the work itself, but the business behind it, the decisions, the margins, and the opportunities that exist when you take ownership of your craft.

With that perspective, I took a leap and started the company. With the support of great leaders and mentors who pushed me to think bigger. In the beginning, it was simple: I wanted to work independently, focus on meaningful projects, and build something on my own terms. For a few years, I did exactly that and I loved it. No noise. No unnecessary layers. Just doing the work the right way.

Over time, I connected with others. Friends and colleagues, who were incredibly talented, hardworking, and, like me, undervalued in traditional corporate structures. People who deserved more control over their careers and a fair return for the value they brought. Bringing them on wasn’t just a business decision. It was a natural evolution. That’s how Elaborit grew.

But what truly defines us goes deeper than that. Every single person on our team has served our government in some capacity—most as prior-service veterans, and some as government civilians. Service isn’t something we claim. It’s something we’ve lived. We understand the mission because we’ve been part of it. And we’ve also seen where it falls short. Where large contractors profit while the government and the mission don’t get the level of service they deserve. That didn’t sit right with us.

So we built Elaborit to be different.
